[Update] PACK EXPO International and Healthcare Packaging EXPO 2020

The city of Chicago announced Friday it is on pace to begin easing restrictions on certain activities in early June. With many essential meetings taking place this week regarding the next steps on the phased reopening plan for businesses by Illinois Governor Pritzker, PMMI is waiting to receive some clarity and direction on how the state is moving forward concerning trade shows. Once we know more, we will communicate the information and identify how this impacts PACK EXPO International and Healthcare Packaging EXPO 2020.

PMMI’s biggest focus right now is doing everything we can to support our exhibitors. We thank you for your continued patience as we await word from the results of these meetings. In light of this, we are extending the final booth payment deadline (last 25% of booth space deposit) from July 6 to August 1.

While we are looking at and preparing for several different scenarios, the most critical factor that we need right now is clarity from the Governor. We hope that our efforts, aligned with many key groups in Chicago, will prompt a more well-defined plan that allows us to make a definitive decision on show status. In the meantime, exhibitors will hear from us every week. Exhibitor Service Manual Launching Week of June 8

You should have received an introductory email yesterday afternoon from John Leroy of PACK EXPO Services, our official show contractor for booth services and furnishings. If you did not receive that email, please contact the PMMI Show Department at expo@pmmi.org and let us know so we can update our records. 

For planning and budgeting purposes, the Exhibitor Service Manual will be available starting the week of June 8. That week you will receive an email from PACK EXPO Services with the Show ID and your exhibitor password, which will be required to log in and place any online orders. Though the Service Manual will be available in June, you have plenty of time to place your orders and still receive the 30% discounted rate on most items. The discount deadline is not until September 21, 2020. We will clearly communicate any other discount deadlines in upcoming exhibitor update emails, so be on the lookout for those communications!

[Call for Abstracts] Two Speaking Opportunities Available!

We are now accepting abstracts from exhibitors who are interested in presenting on the PACK to the Future Stage and the Innovation Stage.

New to PACK EXPO International and Healthcare Packaging EXPO 2020, the PACK to the Future Stage will consist of 30-minute, seminar-based sessions designed to showcase advancements such as future innovations in packaging, sustainable solutions, smart packaging, and artificial intelligence. The stage will be part of the PACK to the Future exhibit, which will be located on the show-floor in the West Building.

The Innovation Stage will be comprised of 30-minute, seminar-based sessions designed to showcase recent industry breakthroughs, success stories, and best practices, all in one convenient location on the show floor. Establish yourself as an industry leader and expert by presenting on this stage and benefit from the new connections made with the attendees at your session!

The cost for each accepted presentation is $3,795. Please note that these presentations are intended to be provide insights on the future of packaging and not a sales pitch. There will be two review periods for submitted abstracts; only one abstract per exhibiting company will be considered during each of the two review periods.  The review period deadlines are as listed below:

• First review period ends: July 10, 2020
• Second and final review period ends: August 7, 2020
