Update on PACK EXPO International and Healthcare Packaging EXPO 2020

As many of you may already be aware, Governor J.B. Pritzker of Illinois unveiled in a press conference last week Restore Illinois, his 5-phase plan to reopen the state, region by region. There are still a lot of unknowns and no clear timeline for the plan. Since this announcement, PMMI Show Management has been actively working with McCormick Place, Chicago Convention Bureau and Illinois state leaders to get clarity on the plan and its implications.

 

We acknowledge that there is much uncertainty about what the future holds and are aware that this reopening plan could potentially have a significant impact on PACK EXPO International and Healthcare Packaging EXPO 2020. We assure you that if it ever becomes apparent that we cannot hold the physical event, we will let the exhibitors know well in advance. As soon as we have more information regarding the reopening plan and specifically the impact on PACK EXPO, we will release that information to all exhibitors.

 

In the meantime, Show Management has been looking at every aspect of the show and exploring every idea possible to address any health and safety concerns that exhibitors and attendees may have. [Last Call] Charitable Robots Needed!

PMMI will be hosting a robot-driven food packing event within the PACK to the Future exhibit in the West Hall at the upcoming show and is looking for one additional exhibitor-robot to participate in the event. In collaboration with Blessings in a Backpack, modern-day robots will pack bags of food for school children in need in the Chicagoland area with the goal to exceed the record number of over 6,000 bags packed during the PACK EXPO Las Vegas event last year.

 

If your company is interested in providing a robot to help with this charitable cause, please contact Krista DeBrosse at kdebrosse@pmmi.org or 571.612.3215 by May 22, 2020 to be considered for inclusion in this display.
